General Course Information This course explores the Acrobat 9.0 work environment and provides skills and practice in the creation and manipulation of Portable Document Format (PDF) files. You will learn to After completing this course, students will know how to: Ø Identify the benefits of PDF, navigate PDF documents by using bookmarks and links, search PDF documents, open and organize PDF documents by using the Organizer window, and access Acrobat help. Ø Use the Adobe PDF printer to create a PDF document from any program? Print command, use the PDFMaker to create a PDF document from Microsoft applications, and use the Create PDF commands in Acrobat to create PDF documents from multiple files and from Web pages. Ø Arrange pages within and between documents, modify PDF document text, add headers and footers, modify page numbering, move PDF document text and graphics to other programs, and apply password protection. Ø Create bookmarks and modify bookmark destinations, arrange and nest bookmarks, format bookmarks, and create and format links. Ø Enhance the accessibility of PDF documents and modify the Acrobat environment to suit needs or preferences. Ø Secure PDF documents by applying passwords; digitally sign and validate digitally signed PDF files; encrypt PDF files based on user certificates; create a security envelope, encrypt PDF files by using Adobe Policy Server; and create password and certificate security policies. Ø Prepare a PDF document for review, initiate automated reviews, use editing and markup tools to review a PDF document, organize and view comments from multiple reviewers, and create a comment summary PDF file.
