General Course Information In this 2-day program, participants will gain the basic skills allowing them to become proficient in using Dreamweaver to create Web pages and Web sites.
You will learn to Ø Describe basic Web and HTML concepts, navigate and customise the Dreamweaver CS3 environment Ø Plan and define a Web site, create, save and import text in a document Ø Modify page properties Ø Insert tables, add text content, create table headers, align text in cells, modify table properties and create table summaries Ø Identify image file types on the Web, embed an image, modify image properties, specify alternative text, align text around an image and insert background images Ø Create links to other pages, other Web sites and email addresses Ø Create image links, names anchors and links to named anchors Ø Use the Site definition dialog box to set up and prepare to publish a Web site, check for and fix broken links in a site and publish a Web site to a local test folder
What skills you need No prior knowledge of Dreamweaver is assumed, however those attending this course should be competent in the use of the keyboard, mouse and working in the Windows environment (including copying files from CDs, as well as opening and saving files).
Training includes Each participant receives a training reference manual/workbook and supplementary training materials. Refreshments and lunch are provided. |

Images · Image formats and tags Choose appropriate image formats, insert images, and modify image properties · Background images Insert and modify background images and write effective alternative text
Links · Creating links Create links to other pages and resources, create named anchors and link to them, and create e-mail links · Image maps Create an image map · Link styles Apply CSS styles to link states
Publishing · Site checks Work with Map view, check file sizes and download times, check for broken links and orphaned files, cloak files, and validate code · Web site publishing Connect to a Web server with a secure FTP connection and upload and update a site
